Malcolm Canada, point guard on the Ellsworth Panthers, has been a key part to Ellsworth's success this year. He has helped his team to a #18 ranking on the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll.
Canada, a physical education major, put up impressive numbers against Clinton Community College, as he would post 8 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. He would follow up this performance with a win over North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). In this game he would post 26 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists.
Canada is proving that he is an essential playmaker on the team, as he is leading the Panthers with: 18 points per game; 5.4 rebounds per game; 5.2 assists per game; and 2.2 steals per game. All of which are leading stats for the Ellsworth Panthers.
In the future, Canada hopes to coach basketball himself. If he can take what he learned as a player, Canada will be showing players what made him such a great basketball player.
