The Spartans held a halftime lead in both contests, but once again failed to put the game away. Southwestern, up 30-27 at half, shot just 27% from the field after the break in falling to the Panthers 54-47. After shooting 50 percent in the first half, Southwestern could not capitalize on open looks as the Panthers continued to win the rebounding battle. Credit to the Panthers, they also took control of the game at the free throw line down the stretch.
