Thom McDonald
Region XI Commissioner

Thom is in his 7th year as Commissioner of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, one of the oldest and most successful conferences in NJCAA history.

As Commissioner, McDonald oversees all aspects of the conference including budget concerns, officials scheduling, eligibility, conference scheduling, sponsorships, championships, website development, promotion and publicity, legislation, compliance and member institution relations.

McDonald is a 1988 graduate of Iowa State University and holds a degree in Elementary Education. McDonald is married to the former Michelle Jean Finch. The couple has three children: Hayley, 16, Grant 14, and Meredith, 8.

Nic Scandrett
Assistant Commissioner/SID

Nic is in his 3rd year with the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. He starting helping out part-time in 2005 while he was a student at Iowa State University. After he received his degree from Iowa State in Health and Human Performance (Emphasis in Sport Management) in August, 2007, he was hired on as a full-time staff member.

Nic is from Norwalk, IA where he was a 2003 graduate of Norwalk High School. He is entering his 4th season as an Assistant Varsity Boy’s Basketball Coach at Roland-Story High School.
