Iowa Lakes was one point away from securing a pair of wins over two Division I opponents. The Lakers came close to beating #6 ranked Iowa Western (85-86), thanks largely to a 33 point performance from Deondre Parks. He didn't skip a beat after the heartbreaking loss as he scored 33 more points to lift Iowa Lakes to a win over Marshalltown. Additionally, Parks averaged 5.5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.5 steals for the week.
Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Cortni Rush

North Iowa Area Community College
#2 ranked NIACC had a historical win for their program as they defeated #1 ranked Kirkwood 115-111 in overtime. Cortni Rush had a career performance, leading the Trojan attack with 28 points and 10 rebounds. With Rush's will undoubtedly make a strong case for NIACC to secure a #1 ranking as the nation enters the holiday break.
Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Mackenzie Gott
Sophomore
Marshalltown Community College
Mackenzie Gott had a career rebounding night, pulling down 15 rebounds in Marshalltown's win over Ellsworth. Her rebounding prowess helped the Tigers hold Ellsworth to just 61 points. Gott scored 13 points and tallied eight rebounds in the second half to help the Tigers rally for the win. She also recorded her 10th double-digit scoring effort with 15 points in a loss to Iowa Central this week. Gott now has seven double-doubles on the year.
