Last weekend, DMACC bounced back from a two-game losing streak, defeating Parkland College in a close game, 79-72. Sophomore forward Carlee Schuhmacher, who had 32 points in the game, led the offense for the Bears. The day before, Schuhmacher broke the school record for both the most free throws made and attempted verses Illinois Central, sinking 21 out of 22 free throws. The 38 points total Schuhmacher against Illinois Central was the second most scored in one game in school history as well. Schuhmacher is averaging 24 points and 12 rebounds per game and has signed a national letter of intent with North Carolina State University.
