ICCAC Fills In Region Record Ten Spots On NJCAA All-American
The NJCAA announced its Baseball All-Americans on Thursday, and the ICCAC was well represented with a record-setting 10 selections—surpassing the previous mark of eight from 2023. Two players from Division I and eight from Division II earned All-American honors.
In Division I, both All-American honorees came from Iowa Western. Noah Scott, the ICCAC Pitcher of the Year, started 14 games and compiled a 10-2 record across 71.2 innings pitched. His 82 strikeouts led the conference, and he maintained a solid 4.02 ERA. One of his most impressive outings came in a 9-3 win over Southeast (Neb.), where he allowed just two earned runs and struck out 12 batters in five innings.
Cooper Neville, the ICCAC Player of the Year, also earned All-American recognition after an outstanding season. He was a consistent force at the plate for the Reivers, finishing with 88 hits—11th most in the NJCAA—and also ranked 11th nationally in stolen bases with 41. One of his standout performances came against McHenry (Ill.), when he went 3-for-6 with two home runs, seven RBIs, 10 total bases, and three runs scored.
In Division II, eight players from four different ICCAC programs received All-American honors.
Cal Sullivan (Kirkwood), Michael Farina (Southeastern), and Boston Doeschot (Ellsworth) earned First Team All-American honors.
Sullivan, the ICCAC Player of the Year, was a nightmare for opposing pitchers. He finished fourth in the NJCAA in hits (92), first in doubles (33), and seventh in RBIs (74), while batting .438 with a .790 slugging percentage—top 20 nationally. One of his signature games came in a 20-8 win over Marshalltown, where he hit two home runs and drove in seven runs.
Farina was a dynamic weapon for Southeastern, ranking second in the NJCAA in RBIs (84), third in runs (84), seventh in hits (88), and 10th in total bases. Playing in 64 of 65 games, he recorded hits in 48 appearances, providing consistent offensive production throughout the season.
Doeschot was a powerful presence in the Ellsworth lineup. He belted 22 home runs—second most in the NJCAA—and ranked third in RBIs with 80. He also added 17 doubles and maintained a .401 batting average. In a dominant 10-4 win over Indian Hills, he went 4-for-5 with three home runs and six RBIs.
Chris McCormack (Iowa Central), Caden Sammler (Ellsworth), and Cooper Nicholson (Iowa Central) were named Third Team All-Americans.
McCormack, also the ICCAC Pitcher of the Year, tallied 11 wins across 16 appearances and threw 68.1 innings with a league-best 2.47 ERA. He recorded five games with seven or more strikeouts, highlighted by an 11-strikeout effort in a 19-4 win over Iowa Lakes.
Sammler was a defensive standout for Ellsworth and a versatile offensive contributor. He posted a .548 on-base percentage—14th best in the NJCAA—and ranked in the top 15 in RCS percentage (.279) and third in total runs created (29). In the field, he committed just one error all season.
Returning to the All-American list for a second year, Nicholson delivered another standout season for the Tritons. He crushed 21 home runs—third most in the NJCAA—and led the nation in runs scored with 88. His 153 total bases ranked fifth nationally and were instrumental in Iowa Central's deep run to the World Series semifinals.
Rounding out the ICCAC's All-American selections were Boede Rahe (Kirkwood) and Jackson Petsche (Southeastern), both earning Honorable Mention honors.
Rahe, a First Team All-Region pitcher, posted the ICCAC's second-best ERA at 2.58. Of his six wins, five were complete games and two were shutouts. He struck out 97 batters—11th most in the NJCAA—and recorded 10 or more strikeouts in six of 13 starts.
In his debut season at Southeastern, Petsche made an immediate impact, finishing with a .369 batting average. He ranked top 10 in the conference in both RBIs (69) and doubles (17), and nationally placed 15th in RBIs and 20th in doubles.
