New River Community College at Southwest Virginia Community College

SWCC edged out New River CC in a wild 11-10 walk-off win Thursday, with Heller's single sealing it in the eighth. The teams combined for 29 hits, trading leads all night. Irvin's early double put Southwest ahead, but New River rallied to tie and later take the lead in the sixth. Southwest answered, knotting things up in the seventh, then clinching it in the eighth on back-to-back RBI singles from Rector and Heller. Dunford earned the win in relief. Rector led with four hits, while Irvin drove in three. Hutchinson had three hits and four RBIs for New River. Southwest Va CC racked up four steals and turned a double play in the victory. They'll face New River CC again next Thursday.
