Hot Bats Carry Spartans to Double Header Sweep
M State swept Central Lakes in a college baseball double header on Thursday as they had their bats working all afternoon. The Spartans won an 11-10 slugfest in the opener and then broke loose for a 12-8 win in the nightcap.

M State had 13 hits in the first game and Central Lakes managed 11 hits. The Spartans took the lead on a Halen Jonas RBI single in bottom of the sixth inning with the game tied at 10-10. The Spartans went deep twice in the fourth inning when Brody Bose hit a solo home run and Jakob Hansen clouted a 2-run homer. Pete O'kimosh (2-3, 3 RBI) added another two-run shot in the fifth. Logan Hammer (3.2IP, 3K, 3BB, 5H, 3R) was the winning pitcher for the Spartans. M State did not commit an error in the field. Anthony Mitchell drove in 3 runs to lead the Raiders and Ethan Guck contributed 3 hits in 4 at bats.
In game two, Jakob Hansen delivered home runs in the third and sixth innings to power an 11-hit attack by the Spartans. His grand slam in the bottom of the third tied the game at 6-6 and changed the momentum in the game to favor M State. Kamryn Rippy (7IP, 10K, 5BB, 5H, 8R, 6ER) was the winning pitcher. Conner Ausland homered for Central Lakes and Guck led the Raiders with three runs batted in, going 2-for-4 at the plate.
M State will host Ridgewater on Saturday.
