2024 NJCAA All-American | Football
The 2024 NJCAA Football All-Americans were announced on Monday in which all three ICCAC teams were featured in the annual honor. In total, 13 ICCAC players made the three-team list.
Iowa Western saw eight players receive All-American honors after a fantastic season that saw them fall just short of a third consecutive national title.
Iowa Central had four players receive All-American honors after a tough fought season finishing with a 6-6 record.
Ellsworth had one player earn All-American honor on Special Teams.
Of Iowa Western's eight players, they had five players make their way onto First Team All-American.
Headlining the group was quarterback, Hunter Dekkers, who led the NJCAA in completions (288), completion percentage (64%) and passing yards (3825). He was second in touchdowns with 32.
Dekkers is the ICCAC's first First Team QB selection since Byron Jarrett in 2021.
Receiver Fresh Walters earned honors with 870 yards (third-most in NJCAA and seven touchdowns. He led the country in receptions with 75.
Joining his teammates on the First Team was offensive linemen Chance Holloman; he blocked for a Dekkers all season and paved the way for over 1800 yards in rushing offense.
On defense, Walt Gray and Lucas Struck get the nod on First Team for the Reivers.
Gray, a defensive lineman, racked up 44 tackles with 9.5 sacks. He becomes a two-time All-American after Honorable Mention honors last season.
At defensive back, Struck made 78 total tackles, garnered 4.5 tackles for loss and had five pass break ups.
Iowa Central featured one player on the First Team All-American. Linebacker Jawarren Corbin, the ICCAC Defensive Player of the Year, played his way into the honor with 69 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions and a forced fumble.
Both Iowa Western and Iowa Central each featured one player on Second Team All-American.
For the Reivers the player selected was freshman punter Jonah Dupont who punted the ball 55 times this season and had an average punt of 39.7 with a long of 64.
The Tritons center Joseph Kallies was critical in helping his teammate Cyncir Bowers run for over 1000 rushing yards.
Iowa Western had two selections make their way on to Honorable Mention All-American.
The first was offensive lineman Omarion Davis who helped all season to keep the pocket clean for his quarterback to pass for over 3800 yards.
Max Bartachek, Iowa Western's kicker, earned All-American after finishing the season with a 97% kicking percentage on PAT attempts and made 8 of his 12 field goals. He led the NJCAA in points with 87.
From Iowa Central, two freshmen, Bowers and defensive linemen Howard Brown got the nod and were awarded Honorable Mention All-American honors.
Bowers finished top 10 in multiple categories in the NJCAA. He was fifth in rushing yards with 1008, eighth in yards per game with 84 and sixth in touchdowns with 12.
Brown ended the season with 53 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks with one fumble recovery.
Ellsworth specialist Nigel Cheeks was awarded Honorable Mention All-American honors after a stellar season returning kicks. Cheeks racked up 886 yards on 37 returns with a long of 56 and an average of 23.9 yards.
