Seven Earn NJCAA All-American Status in Men's Basketball
The NJCAA has released its 2024–25 All-American Teams for Men's Basketball, recognizing standout athletes from both Division I and Division II programs. This year, a total of seven players from Division I and II were honored for their exceptional performances on the court.
Abdoulaye Fall was a model of consistency for Indian Hills this season, making an impact as a versatile guard/forward. The First Team All-American selection appeared in 30 of the Warriors' 33 games, averaging 10.5 points per game while shooting an efficient 52.5% from the field — the third-best mark in the conference. On the boards and beyond, Fall contributed 4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1 steal per game, all while limiting turnovers to just 1.9 per contest. His efforts earned him ICCAC Region 11 Player of the Year honors and helped lead the Warriors to a No. 3 seed at the NJCAA National Tournament.
Also from Indian Hills as an Honorable Mention selection was William Begure-Kassi. The sophomore averaged 9.8 points on 43.6 percent shooting and 5.7 rebounds per game. During one stretch in the early going, he posted 20 or more points in three games of a five game stretch, including a season-high 27.
Burlington native Merquiche Lewis was a key contributor for Southeastern in earning an Honorable Mention selection. He posted 12.5 points per game and shot an impressive 56.4% from the field — the second-highest percentage in the conference. A standout rebounder at the guard position, Lewis ranked second in the ICCAC with 6.8 rebounds per game. He also added 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals per outing.
Three ICCAC programs saw players recognized among this year's Division II All-Americans: DMACC, Kirkwood, and Iowa Lakes.
A standout guard for the Bears, First Team selection Trevian Carson delivered across the board this season. He averaged 14.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. His 57.9% shooting clip ranked second in the conference. Carson's consistent production made him a threat in every statistical category as he also led DMACC in rebounding. His all-around performance earned him ICCAC Division II Player of the Year honors.
Joining Carson on the list as a Third Team Selection was Da'Shon Fisher. Fisher was a huge part in the Bears winning the regular season ICCAC crown and reaching the NJCAA National Tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons. He averaged 16.6 points per game and 5.0 rebounds.
One of the NJCAA's premier rebounders, Jhordan Ryan dominated the paint for Iowa Lakes. Earning a Second Team selection, he averaged a double-double with 14 points and 11.2 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 57% from the field. His rebounding average was second-best in the country behind Mujahid Dine Yacoubou who grabbed 12.4 per game. Defensively, Ryan was a force, recording 2.8 blocks per game - his total of 87 were sixth-most in the country. Ryan's ability to control the glass and anchor the defense earned him a well-deserved spot among the All-American honorees.
Third Team selection Traijan Sain was this season's top contributor for Kirkwood's National Championship team, bringing poise and consistency throughout the season. He averaged 11.7 points per game and shot 40.3% from the floor. More than just a scorer, Sain added 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He maintained a strong 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio, highlighting his efficient ball-handling and decision-making.
