2025 District Preview | Division II Men's Golf
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The ICCAC’s top Division II men’s golf programs are headed to Sioux City for the 2025 North Central District Championship, where they will compete alongside teams from Regions 9 and 13 for three qualifying spots to the NJCAA National Tournament in Plymouth, Indiana. The tournament will be held over three days, beginning Sunday, May 4, and concluding Tuesday, May 6, with 18 holes played each day. Teams will arrive Saturday, May 3, for an official practice round at Floyd Park Golf Course.
The field includes four teams from outside Region 11: Central (Neb.), North Platte (Neb.), and Southeast (Neb.) from Region 9, along with Alexandria Tech (Minn.) from Region 13.
Leading the ICCAC field once again is Kirkwood, seeking its tenth consecutive district qualifying title. The Eagles are currently ranked No. 6 nationally and boast one of the deepest rosters in the country, with six players ranked inside the top 100. Their top performer, Quinn Tinkler, is ranked No. 16 and has earned three top-five finishes in seven spring events.
Northeast (Neb.), ranked No. 10 in the nation, also enters the tournament as a strong contender after winning the North Central District Preview earlier this spring. Freshman Luke Bosner, ranked No. 31 nationally, has been a key piece of the team’s success, opening the season with a runner-up finish and a match play title. He’s hit over par by just seven strokes across his last three tournaments, finishing in the top 15 in each.
Iowa Central, ranked No. 14, brings a well-balanced team featuring a mix of sophomores and freshmen. The Tritons have five players inside the national top 90, led by Eric Zuniga, ranked No. 39, who recently finished fourth at the NIACC Spring Invite. Southwestern and Hawkeye also come into the event nationally ranked at No. 21 and No. 22, respectively. Southwestern’s standout performance came at the Southwestern Premier, where they finished second in a strong field that included seven teams appearing in this week’s district championship. Freddie Muggeridge leads the Spartans, showcasing consistency and steady improvement throughout the season.
Hawkeye has had a dominant spring, winning three of the seven tournaments they’ve entered. They are led by Kaeden Anderson, one of the most consistent individual performers in the country. Anderson is ranked No. 26 nationally and has won three tournaments this spring while finishing as runner-up in the other four, making him a top contender for the individual district crown.
Also competing from the ICCAC are DMACC, NIACC, Iowa Lakes, and Southeastern. While these teams may be considered underdogs in such a deep field, individual standouts could still make their mark. One of those is NIACC’s Bennett Berger, who is ranked No. 17 nationally and has claimed two tournament titles and a third-place finish in just four spring events.
With multiple teams capable of winning and several nationally ranked individuals in the field, this year’s North Central District Championship promises to be one of the most competitive and unpredictable events in the country. Though Kirkwood enters as the favorite, the depth of the field suggests that the battle for team and individual honors could go down to the final hole.
