Track Highlights

  • Tyreese James (NIACC) and Hector Benjamin (Indian Hills) both clocked 10.55 in the 100 meters, with James edging Benjamin in a photo finish.

  • Bongumusa Nkosi (Iowa Central) claimed gold in the 200 Meters (20.67) and was second in the 400 Meters and Long Jump. He led all scorers with 29.25 team points.  

  • Michael Francois (Iowa Western) was a star performer, winning the 400 Meters (46.13) and anchoring the victorious 4x400 Meter Relay.

  • Flynn Pumpa (Iowa Western) doubled with podium finishes in the 1500 Meter (2nd) and a win in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase (9:29.89).

  • Geofrey Ronoh (Iowa Western) led a podium sweep in the 10,000 Meters and added bronze in the 1500 Meters.

  • Brian Kirwa (Iowa Central) won the 5000 Meters (15:39.50) and placed third in the Steeplechase.

  • Indian Hills captured the 4x100 Meter Relay title with a sharp 40.23 effort from Cannon, Miller, Loveless, and Benjamin.

 

Field Event Standouts

  • Yekini Bowen (Iowa Western) won the Discus (57.84m) and was runner-up in the Shot Put (16.66m). Bowen scored the second-most team points and most for the Reivers with 22.

  • Kaden Banks (Indian Hills) took gold in the Shot Put (17.03m) and bronze in Discus.

  • Lebon Attoungbre (Iowa Western) won the Triple Jump (15.14m) and was second in the Long Jump.

  • Cain Brown (Iowa Western) cleared 2.04m to win the High Jump.

  • Gabriel Ortiz (Iowa Western) launched a winning throw of 63.45m in the Javelin.

  • Amarion Bradley (Iowa Central) cleared 4.05m to win the Pole Vault, leading a full podium sweep for the Tritons.

  • Amarr Boyongo (Iowa Central) claimed the decathlon with 5,736 points, edging teammates Robert Cooley and Alan Lefevre in a tightly contested event.

 

Relays Recap:

  • 4x100m Relay: Indian Hills stormed to victory in 40.23.

  • 4x400m Relay: Iowa Western's Francois-led squad took gold in 3:11.45.

  • 4x800m Relay: Iowa Central edged Iowa Western in a thrilling finish, clocking 7:52.58.
