Iowa Central Rolls to Region 11 Indoor Title
STORM LAKE, Iowa - Iowa Central put together a dominant, meet-long performance to capture the Region 11 Championship, finishing with 282.5 points and securing the program's first indoor title since 2023. The Tritons sealed the team championship with wins all over the facility, led by Taha Ouchene (600 Meters, 800 Meters), Soufyane Laaziz (3000 Meters), and Iowa Central rolling to relay titles in the 4x400 Relay and 4x800 Relay. In the field and multis, the Tritons added championships from Lance Quiah (Triple Jump), Amarion Bradley (Pole Vault), Haydn Stockdale (Weight Throw), and Robert Cooley (Heptathlon) to cap a complete championship effort.
Other event champions across the meet included Joseph Cannon (60 Meters), Femi Nilson (60 Meter Hurdles), and Kohlby Newsom (1000 Meters) for Indian Hills; Xavier Codling (200 Meters, Long Jump) for NIACC; and Iowa Western winners Keone John (400 Meters), Pierre Carlier (Mile), Miguel Angel Lopez Carranza (5000 Meters), Wichieng Hosnyang (High Jump), and Rajay Hemmings (Shot Put), along with the Reivers' title in the Distance Medley Relay.
Two meet records fell during the championship meet. Rajay Hemmings (Shot Put) broke the meet record previously held by Tate Joens of Indian Hills, and his winning throw also produced the top mark in the NJCAA this season. Iowa Central's Taha Ouchene (600 Meters) also set a new meet record, edging the previous standard held by Terrick Johnson of Indian Hills by .02.
