Southwest Virginia Community College pulled off a wild, walk-off win on Wednesday, outlasting Surry Community College 14-13 in a game that had more twists than a rollercoaster at Cedar Bluff.

Trailing 13-12 in the bottom of the eighth, Southwest Virginia's hopes came down to Sturgill, who laced a single to bring home the tying and winning runs, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

The bats were on fire for both teams all afternoon. Southwest Virginia racked up 11 hits while Surry pounded out 13 in a back-and-forth slugfest.

Southwest Virginia wasted no time getting on the board, with Singleton's RBI single and Deel's sacrifice lining out to left, giving them an early lead. Singleton struck again in the second, doubling home another run and stretching the margin to 5-1.

But Surry clawed back, tying the game in the fifth on a combination of timely hits and a costly error. Just when it looked like momentum was slipping away, Southwest Virginia exploded for five runs in the bottom half, highlighted by Mundt's jaw-dropping, inside-the-park grand slam—turning the tide and electrifying the dugout.

Surry refused to go quietly, pouring in six runs in the seventh inning, capped by big hits from Yates and Robertson to seize a 12-11 lead. In the eighth, a sacrifice bunt from Hannah nudged Surry ahead 13-12, setting the stage for the dramatic finish.

Santolla picked up the win for Southwest Virginia, working 4.2 innings in relief. Campbell took the loss for Surry, despite striking out four over seven innings. Sturgill, Pyles, and Glascock all got time out of the Southwest Virginia bullpen in a true team effort.

On offense, Singleton was unstoppable, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs and setting the tone in the heart of the lineup. Sturgill, Mundt, and Deel each had multiple hits, and the team showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks. Stanley and Santolla led the way with two apiece, and Stanley swiped two bags as Southwest Virginia ran wild, stealing three bases on the day.

For Surry, Yates put on a clinic, finishing a perfect 5-for-5. Robertson drove in three from the eight spot, while Morgan and Campbell chipped in with multiple hits. Surry's lineup was disciplined, drawing seven walks in a gritty offensive display.

With the dramatic win in their pocket, Southwest Virginia now looks ahead to a Friday matchup on the road against Fayetteville Tech Community College.
