Becerra-Diaz Headlines All-Region Group for Division II Women's Golf
The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) announced its All-Region teams for the 2024-25 Division II Women's Golf season on Tuesday. Selections for the First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention were based on performances at the North Plains District Tournament.
The top individual honor of the season went to Iowa Central's Ivanna Becerra-Diaz. The standout sophomore posted a scoring average of 79 over 15 rounds, earning her a No. 7 national ranking in NJCAA Division II via Clippd.
Becerra-Diaz claimed three individual titles during the season, beginning with a victory at the Clarke Fall Invite in September 2024. She followed that up with a win at the Jim Currell Invitational, hosted by DMACC later that month.
Her most impressive performance came on the biggest stage—at the North Plains District Championship—where she dominated the field with a seven-stroke victory to claim medalist honors. Her effort helped propel Iowa Central to a team berth at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in the division's inaugural season. It marks the Tritons' first national tournament appearance since 2012.
Becerra-Diaz competed in 10 tournaments during the year, finishing in the top three in every event.
Joining Becerra-Diaz on the All-Region First Team were her Iowa Central teammate Olivia Eckert, DMACC's Anne Van Hemert and Halle Hagberg, and NIACC's Meghan DeLong.
DMACC's Chris Seaboch was named ICCAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bears to the North Plains District Championship. Four of DMACC's top five golfers finished in the top 10 at the tournament, securing the team's first trip to the national tournament since 2021.
