2025 ICCAC Fall Preview | Women's Soccer
The ICCAC Soccer is just about underway and is primed for another competitive season at both the Division I & Division II level.
For the two Division I teams, Indian Hills and Iowa Western each already know they will be in the District Tournament come late October. They will be tasked with racking up wins in the non-conference to position themselves for a possible at-large bid when the time comes --- as only one can win the District title.
Iowa Western sees a new head coach for the first time in a decade while Indian Hills continues to build under their third-year leader after a nice jump last season.
At the top of Division II, Iowa Central remains a dominant force after an undefeated conference run last season and consecutive winning campaigns. With a deep and balanced roster, the Tritons are positioned to make another strong push for the Region 11 title.
Not far behind, Iowa Lakes demonstrated their postseason prowess by capturing the Region 11 Tournament championship in 2024 despite a fourth-place conference finish. The Lakers bring fresh energy and a clear vision as they aim to replicate their recent success. Northeast also figures prominently, returning key veterans and coming off a solid 14-5-2 record in 2024. The Hawks are eager to reclaim their regional championship form.
Hawkeye out the top four of the coaches poll -- which anyone who finishes in that top four will host a regional tournament matchup. The RedTails have a strong returning core from one of the highest scoring offenses a season ago. They look to get over the hump after falling 5-4 in PKs to Iowa Lakes in last year's Region 11 Championship game.
In the middle of the pack, NIACC and Western Iowa Tech offer intriguing storylines of teams looking to build consistency and climb the standings. NIACC combines promising newcomers with a foundation of experienced players. Western Iowa Tech continues its steady growth, aiming to improve on last year's Region 11 Tournament appearance despite roster changes.
Also to be looked at to make a move will be Central Community College -- who joins Region 11 for their first full-time season in the confernece. The Raiders were the runner up in the Region 6 Tournament last year to the national runner up Johnson County (Kan.).
Northwest Iowa and Southeastern face the challenge of overcoming difficult 2024 seasons but carry optimism into 2025. Northwest Iowa looks to build on its foundational first year with new talent and returning players, while Southeastern aims to turn experience into progress. Both programs represent the developmental spirit that makes the ICCAC competitive year after year.
Overall, the 2025 ICCAC season will feature a competitive balance with a mix of veteran leadership and youthful energy across all nine teams. Fans can expect thrilling matchups, emerging storylines, and a fight for postseason positioning that will keep the race for conference supremacy wide open throughout the fall.
